Welcome to the SA‑Skills News Articles Section

We are pleased to announce the launch of the SA‑Skills News Articles Section, a dedicated space designed to keep our community informed about the latest developments in skills development legislation, compliance requirements, and updates from key authorities such as SETAs, SAQA, QCTO and more. This new section will provide timely, content‑rich updates to support companies, learners, and providers in navigating South Africa’s evolving skills landscape.

The purpose of this section is to ensure that stakeholders remain up to date with regulatory changes, submission deadlines, and important announcements from the bodies shaping the sector. It will also serve as a hub for notices on public grants and funding opportunities, helping organisations and individuals access the resources they need to strengthen training and development initiatives.

As we begin, it is important to highlight a pressing compliance matter. All levy‑paying companies are reminded to submit their Workplace Skills Plans (WSP) and Annual Training Reports (ATR) for the 2026/27 financial year by 30 April 2026. These submissions are essential to secure access to mandatory grants. Companies requiring additional support should engage with their Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) or make use of their respective SETA portals. While extensions into May may be requested directly from SETAs, approval must be confirmed before the April deadline passes.

For those seeking assistance with the submission process, the SA‑Skills Search Section provides a dedicated Skills Development Facilitation tab. Here, members can search for registered SDFs who are available to guide companies through compliance requirements and ensure submissions are completed accurately and on time.

We encourage all stakeholders to remain engaged with this new section. Submitting WSP/ATR reports on time, checking back regularly for updates on grants and bursaries, and maintaining close contact with SETAs and Skills Development Facilitators will ensure maximum benefit from the evolving skills development framework.
